The Mount Pearl H J Bartlett Electric Blades will make their return to the Newfoundland and Labrador Senior Hockey League for the 2013/14 season with a new coaching staff and General Manager.
Vice-President Jim HARE announced that Brian CRANFORD, who was appointed as Head Coach and General Manager several weeks ago, will be joined on the bench by Scott GORDON and Tom MORET.
HARE stated: “Brian has been working overtime the past number of weeks in an effort to assemble a strong and competitive team for the fans of the Blades. With the additions of Scott and Tom we feel we have put together a very strong coaching staff for the coming season.
HARE advised that CRANFORD has a number of years in the coaching ranks which include several years in the St. John’s Junior Hockey League where he coached two league champions and a Vietch winner. He has also played in the Newfoundland Senior League making two trips to the Herder Finals.
GORDON has an extensive head coaching background which includes 20 years as a High School coach and 12 years in the Junior League. He was the assistant coach with the Canada games male team in 2011 and also an assistant coach with Team Atlantic at the World Under 17 in 2012. GORDON has also served as a scout with the OHL and the QMJHL.
MORET has over 20 years experience coaching which include minor hockey, high school hockey and in the Junior League. MORET also served as the Head Coach of the Canada games male team in 2011 and was an assistant coach with Canada games teams in 2003 and 2007.
HARE concluded saying the Blades are very please to have assembled a strong coaching staff which they feel will translate into a very exciting team for the 2013/14 season.
